I can tell you I remember most of you as if it were yesterday despite having been in 14 schools since 1965, 6 as headmaster. There was an intensity to AS that I've never found elsewhere and I've often said that once you''ve worked there every subsequent job seems easy. I had significant stays at Sewanee Academy and Collegiate in Richmond in this country, then went overseas to work in Belgium, Philippines, Turkey, Luxembourg, Germany, Indonesia and Venezuela. Along the way I joined a 12-Step program that saved and changed my life (prodded to do so by Rusty Young to whom I owe immense gratitude). And I met my partner of the past 26 years, in Manila. I've owned and operated several inns and recently purchased Saravilla B&B in the college town of Alma, MI. Last school year was spent in Jakarta as interim head of an international school and I will possibly do another interim once this latest inn is operating well. Life is rich and full.
