James Hollandsworth (Dean, Camping, Physics)

Retired from Asheville School in 1985

Remain active in Asheville School affairs.
Attend Reunions, keeping in contact with
former students and faculty. Especially those
who had been active in the Mountaineering
Program. Now involved in the Hollandsworth-
Maggert Asheville School Land Preservation
Project.

Lost my wife, Willie Lee (Asheville School 1944-
1982). Married Marjoriie McDonald in 1984.
We both live an active life both in Huntington WV
and in Black Mountain NC where we have homes.

As I visit the old Ashnoca Lake area in
connection with the Land Preservation
Project, I remember many of the hours and
days spent there in outdoor activities with
students and staff....bridge/trail building...
picnics..learning outdoor living skills...ice skating .....preparations for weekend camping trips. Evidence of these activites still exist.
